Napa Valley Vinyards

The Napa Valley region is the Crown Jewel of Northern California's wine country. This would still be true if this region did not produce some of the world's best wines due to its stunning natural beauty. Napa Valley, a world famous wine area, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in California. More than five million visitors come each year, often overcrowding the roadways on summer weekends. This region is blessed by the cool fog that rolls in from San Pablo Bay on its southern side and warmer weather on the northern side near Mt St Helena. Due to the 10-12 degree difference in weather temperatures, this region produces many diverse varietals to please any connoisseur. Peak times are the summer months and the harvest "crush" during September and October. Napa Valley is home to more than two hundred wineries.

Carneros Region Wineries

The Carneros wine region is famous for sparkling Wine, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The Carneros wine country runs along the southern tip of Napa and Sonoma Counties. The first vineyards were thought to have been planted in 1830s, and by the end of the 1800s the advent of the ferries and railroad had made Carneros a veritable fruit and wine basket. Prohibition wiped out the small wine industry in Carneros and it didn't get back on its feet again until the 1960s. The Napa Carneros region can be reached from the Bay Bridge in about an hour's driving time with no traffic.
