Eastern Sierra Fall Foliage can be every bit as colorful as New England. Starting around mid September, the trees on the Eastern Slopes of the Sierra Nevada display vivid colors. The season can last up to six weeks or end abruptly when heavy snow storms blanket the mountains. The Canyons hold vast, thick groves of quaking aspen trees as well as Cottonwoods. Visible are fantastic expanses of canyon sides covered in rich hues of yellow and orange, as if the countryside is aflame.
